Blasphemous, a challenging 2D platformer drawing inspiration from religious and Spanish folklore, has arrived on Android. This release includes all DLC, gamepad support, and a completely redesigned user interface. The iOS version is slated for release in late February 2025.
The game's gothic atmosphere, intense combat, and demanding difficulty are hallmarks of its design. Players assume the role of The Penitent One, a warrior battling a malevolent curse known as The Miracle on the island of Cvstodia. Enemies are inspired by a dark blend of religious imagery and Spanish folklore. Expect repeated deaths as you strive to liberate the island's inhabitants.
The mobile port features a revamped UI and intuitive touch controls, complemented by Bluetooth gamepad compatibility for those preferring traditional controllers. All DLC is included in this mobile version.
While iOS users must wait until late February 2025, the overwhelmingly positive player and critic reception suggests the wait will be worthwhile. The suitability of touch controls for precise platforming remains a point of contention, but Blasphemous aims to overcome this challenge.
