Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is getting a much-requested feature: in-game challenge tracking. Treyarch Studios confirmed they're developing this functionality, absent from the game's launch but present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3.
While no release date has been set, the addition is expected soon, potentially coinciding with the Season 2 update slated for later this month. This news follows a recent January 9th update addressing various Multiplayer and Zombies bugs, including UI and audio fixes, and a buff to Red Light, Green Light XP gains. Significantly, this patch also reversed a controversial Zombies change from January 3rd, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawning in Directed Mode following player feedback.
Challenge Tracking on the Way
Treyarch's confirmation came via a Twitter response to a fan inquiry. The developer stated that in-game challenge tracking is "currently in the works." This is welcome news for players striving for Mastery camos, as the feature, if implemented similarly to Modern Warfare 3, will provide real-time challenge progress tracking within the game's UI.
Further Improvements Planned
Treyarch also confirmed another significant improvement is underway: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies. This would eliminate the need for players to constantly adjust HUD preferences when switching between game modes. This too is described as "in the works."
