Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Slasher vs. Spectre Showdown

Destiny 2 players are gearing up for a spooky choice in the upcoming Festival of the Lost 2025 event. Bungie has unveiled two competing armor sets: Slashers and Spectres, each inspired by iconic horror figures. This year's event lets the community directly influence the available cosmetic rewards through a vote.

The "Slashers" set features designs inspired by Jason Voorhees (Titans), Ghostface (Hunters), and a menacing Scarecrow (Warlocks). Conversely, the "Spectres" set offers a Babadook-inspired Titan armor, La Llorona for Hunters, and, perhaps most anticipated, an official Slender Man Warlock set.

Despite the excitement surrounding these new cosmetic options, the announcement has been met with mixed reactions. While many players are enthusiastic about the horror-themed armor, a significant portion of the community expresses ongoing frustration with persistent bugs and a perceived decline in player engagement within Destiny 2's current season, Episode Revenant. Concerns about broken mechanics, such as malfunctioning tonics, have further fueled this discontent. The timing of the announcement, focusing on an event ten months in the future, has also drawn criticism, with some players hoping for more immediate acknowledgment of the game's current challenges.

The 2024 Festival of the Lost's Wizard armor set, initially unavailable, will also be made accessible during Episode Heresy, offering a small consolation to players. The upcoming vote will determine which of the two new sets – Slashers or Spectres – will grace Destiny 2 come October.
