Beyond the protagonist, seven companions will join your adventure in Metaphor: ReFantazio, each contributing unique combat abilities. While Gallica is present from the outset, her combat participation is limited.

Each Companion and Their Recruitment Date
Each party member awakens to a unique Archetype, usable by other party members once unlocked. Initial companions may be initially AI-controlled; however, later recruits awaken before their first combat appearance.

Strohl (Warrior): Joins on June 5th during the Border Fort events, but his Archetype awakens the following day, June 6th, in the Nord Mines. Until then, he's AI-controlled.

Grius: Joins after the Border Fort events, but becomes a fully active party member on June 6th, after Strohl's awakening. Grius's Archetype isn't awakened in the traditional sense.

Hulkenberg (Knight): Interacts with the party from June 10th, fully joining and awakening her Archetype during the boss fight on June 11th.

Heismay (Thief): Heismay's awakening and party recruitment occur on July 4th within Martira's main dungeon.

Junah (Masked Dancer): Junah joins the party upon her awakening on August 13th.

Eupha (Summoner): Eupha's recruitment is flexible. Completing the Dragon Temple Dungeon between August 19th and September 4th (during Viraga Island free time) adds her to the party for the final boss. However, her Bond quest begins after this period.

Basilio (Berserker): Awakens and joins on September 11th during Saint's Day events, becoming usable in combat the following day.
