Nintendo's Latest Announcement: A LEGO Game Boy!
Nintendo and LEGO have teamed up again, this time producing a LEGO Game Boy set! Launching October 2025, this follows the successful LEGO NES release.
While exciting for fans of both brands, the announcement on X (formerly Twitter) sparked considerable speculation about the Nintendo Switch 2. Many joked that the LEGO Game Boy was a disguised reveal of the next console.
Although details on the Switch 2 remain scarce, Nintendo President Furukawa confirmed in May 2024 that a successor announcement would be made within the fiscal year (ending March). Patience is key!
Pricing for the LEGO Game Boy hasn't been revealed, but further information is promised in the coming weeks or months.
Previous Nintendo/LEGO Collaborations
Beyond the NES, Nintendo and LEGO have previously collaborated on sets featuring iconic characters from Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda (TLZ).
Last May, LEGO released a 2,500-piece Great Deku Tree set ($299.99 USD) from Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild, complete with Princess Zelda and the Master Sword.
Two months later, a Super Mario World set featuring Mario and Yoshi ($129.99 USD) was released. This unique set showcases the characters' in-game sprites, with a moving Yoshi leg mechanism.
