Due to unexpectedly high demand and insufficient stock, Nintendo has postponed the general retail release of the Alarmo alarm clock in Japan. Initially slated for a February 2025 launch, the release has been delayed indefinitely. This delay is solely due to production and inventory challenges. Currently, there's no indication of whether this will impact international availability, with a global launch still scheduled for March 2025.
To address the immediate shortage, Nintendo Japan has implemented a pre-order system exclusively for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Japan. This pre-order window is planned for mid-December 2024, with shipments expected in early February 2025. Specific pre-order dates will be announced shortly.
The Alarmo, a gaming-themed alarm clock featuring iconic melodies from franchises like Super Mario, Zelda, Pikmin, Splatoon, and RingFit Adventure (with more to be added via updates), launched globally in October 2024. Its immediate popularity overwhelmed Nintendo, leading to the cessation of online orders and a lottery system for remaining stock. Physical stock quickly sold out in Japanese and New York Nintendo stores.
Further updates on pre-orders and the rescheduled general sales date will be shared as they become available.
