A new roguelike word game, Letterlike, is challenging word game enthusiasts! Blending elements of Balatro and Scrabble, it offers a unique combination of vocabulary skills and roguelike unpredictability.
Word Crafting in Letterlike
Letterlike's roguelike nature ensures each playthrough presents a different set of letters and challenges, all procedurally generated. The endless possibilities lead to endless replayability.
Each game begins with a letter set. Your aim is to create words, score points, and progress through levels. Each level features three rounds, requiring sufficient points to advance. Like Scrabble, strategic word creation is key. However, you only have five attempts per round – choose your words wisely!
Facing undesirable letters? You can discard some, but this option is limited, adding a layer of strategic depth. A rearrange mode allows you to manipulate the letters to your advantage.
The final round introduces a twist: some letters become worthless, scoring zero points.
Earned points and rewards unlock helpful items to enhance subsequent playthroughs. Some buffs are automatic, while others require reaching certain levels. Collected gems facilitate powerful upgrades, making future runs easier.
Worth a Try?
Letterlike is simple, minimalist, and engaging. The game allows replaying specific runs with friends using shared seeds – share those frustrating letter combinations!
The game is ad-free with a one-time purchase, playable offline. A free demo version is available on the Google Play Store.
