How to Play Backgammon:
- Backgammon is a two-player strategy game played on a board with 24 triangular points.
- Each player starts with 15 checkers (black or white) positioned on opposite sides of the board.
- Players take turns rolling dice to determine how many points their checkers can move. (This is why it's often called a dice game.)
- Move checkers according to the dice roll (e.g., a roll of 2 and 5 allows you to move one checker 2 points and another 5, or one checker 7 points).
- Once all your checkers reach your home board, you can begin bearing them off the board.
- The first player to bear off all their checkers wins!
Additional Game Rules:
- Rolling doubles allows you to move four times the value of the number rolled (e.g., two 4s allow a total move of 16 points, but each checker must move 4 points at a time).
- You cannot land a checker on a point occupied by two or more of your opponent's checkers.
- Landing on a point with only one of your opponent's checkers results in that checker being sent to the bar (the middle partition).
