The popular RPG adventure management game, The Tale of Food, featuring personified food characters, is officially shutting down. Initially launched in China for closed beta in September 2019 and later distributed by Tencent Games, The Tale of Food will cease operations on March 20th, 2025, at 10:00 AM (UTC+8).
The Tale of Food Shutdown Date:
In-game purchases were disabled on February 18th, 2025, and new player registrations are no longer possible. The game has also been removed from the Google Play Store. However, existing players can continue to enjoy the game until the servers shut down on March 20th, 2025.
Refunds for In-Game Purchases:
Players who made in-game purchases between January 9th and February 18th, 2025, are eligible for a refund. Contact in-game support or email the developers before March 20th to request a refund. Further details regarding the shutdown's terms and conditions can be found on the official The Tale of Food X account.
Server Shutdown Timeline:
It's worth noting that the game's Japan server closed in April 2023, followed by the China server in June 2024. This global server shutdown marks the final closure of The Tale of Food.
While your time managing a realm of charming dumplings and sophisticated seafood is ending, the official X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and Discord communities will remain active. These platforms will serve as spaces for players to share memories and connect with fellow food enthusiasts.
