Exploring Atuel: A Documentary Game Experience
Atuel immerses players in the stunning yet climate-change-affected Atuel River Valley in Argentina. The game is less about traditional gameplay and more about a transformative experience. Players shapeshift into various animals and elements within the ecosystem, becoming integral parts of the landscape. Imagine soaring through the skies one moment, then flowing as the river itself the next.
The game features real interviews with historians, biologists, geologists, and local residents, providing insightful perspectives on the region's history, current state, and future under the shadow of climate change. Matajuegos collaborated with The 12.01 Project, an international documentary team, to bring these stories to life.
Atuel's visuals are truly captivating. Inspired by the Cuyo desert, the game's landscapes possess an almost otherworldly beauty.
While Android pre-registration isn't yet live, you can visit the Steam page or official website for more details. The mobile release will include localization in seven new languages and full controller support.
