In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, some quests are locked until you reach Kuttenberg. Once there, you can freely travel between regions, opening up new adventures. Here's a detailed guide on how to complete the "Under the Straw Hat" quest.
How to Unlock 'Under the Straw Hat' in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
To embark on the "Under the Straw Hat" quest, you first need to initiate the "In Vino Veritas" side quest in Kuttenberg. Upon arrival, locate Casper Rudolf on the west side of the city, where he's offering free wine samples. Casper seeks your help to enhance his wine by gathering information.
You have two paths to proceed: directly approach Havel with your wine knowledge or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta to gain more insight. If you choose to meet Havel directly, ensure you're dressed in fine attire and well-groomed. During your conversation with Havel, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It’s missing ginger" as your responses to extract the necessary information. Return to Casper with your findings.
Access the Vineyard
Next, Casper tasks you with infiltrating the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to learn more about the incense Havel mentioned. Avoid trespassing by sticking to the main road into the vineyard and speaking with the recruiter, who will introduce you to the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Continue along the road, passing a guard to enter the estate, and find Jerome on a bench. Inform Jerome that you've been instructed to report there, and he'll brief you on your vineyard duties.
Working at the Vineyard
Your job at the vineyard begins the following day. After resting at an inn or your chosen lodging, return to the vineyard in the morning. To earn your wages, you'll need to move sacks to their designated spots and harvest plants like Thistle around the vines. Alternatively, you can skip the labor and head straight for the secret incense.
The incense is stored in the wine cellar, located in the main building's basement, where you initially met Jerome. Accessing this area is risky, as it's off-limits even to workers. You'll need either a lockpick or to steal the keys from Jerome to enter the cellar. Inside, locate a chest and collect all the Sulphur Wicks within it, completing the main objective. For an additional reward, you can also gather seedlings for Casper. From the main building's entrance, head straight to the opposite door to find the seedlings. Be swift, as this is another restricted area.
If you choose to work, report to Jerome at the end of the day to collect your pay. Otherwise, return to Casper with the Sulphur Wicks and, if applicable, the seedlings.
By following these steps, you'll successfully complete both the "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas" quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, paving the way for further adventures like "Master Schindel’s Toys."
