Netflix has announced plans to produce a fresh film version of Stephen King's chilling tale, with Vertigo Entertainment's founder and producer Roy Lee attached to the project. However, the film is still in its early stages, with no writers, directors, or cast members announced yet.
Originally published in 1981, King's novel Cujo was swiftly adapted into a 1983 cult classic horror film by screenwriters Don Carlos Dunaway and Barbara Turner, directed by Lewis Teague. The gripping story centers on a determined mother, portrayed by Dee Wallace, who will go to any lengths to protect her young son from a rabid dog. The duo finds themselves trapped in a car with a broken engine, battling for survival as Cujo, once a gentle pet now turned deadly after being bitten by a rabid bat, relentlessly stalks them from outside.
