The developers are expected to announce the Elden Ring: Nightreign release date, but that's not all. Gaming press previews are also anticipated. Henderson suggests a late May release is the developers' primary goal (Plan A). The February 12th date for the announcement is strategically chosen.
This date coincides with a potential new State of Play presentation. Furthermore, a closed beta test runs from February 14th to 17th for select participants. These players are likely to leak gameplay details, prompting the developers to preempt any potential uncontrolled information release.
