Dynasty Warriors: Origins, while not open-world, features a sizable map that expands as the story progresses. Early exploration is straightforward, but later navigation can become time-consuming due to the increasing number of accessible provinces, skirmishes, and requests, often requiring significant backtracking. Mastering fast travel is crucial for efficient gameplay, especially for players aiming to complete all side content.
Fast Travel in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Fast travel utilizes Waymarks, accessed via the in-game map. To enable fast travel to a Waymark, players must first unlock it by approaching it on the world map and pressing X (PlayStation) or A (Xbox). Unlocked Waymarks then appear on the map screen, allowing instant travel.
Accessing the map is done either by interacting with an unlocked Waymark on the world map (outside of battle), pausing the game and navigating to the Map menu using the shoulder buttons, or, for PlayStation users, by pressing the DualSense touchpad while on the world map, offering a time-saving shortcut.
The map screen displays unlocked Waymarks. Hovering over a Waymark reveals nearby key locations and battles. Pressing Square (PlayStation) or X (Xbox) toggles information display. Using Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) cycles through available battles and locations; selecting one moves the cursor to the nearest Waymark.
