Prepare yourselves, goat fanatics! The utterly unexpected has happened: Goat Simulator is branching out into the card game arena! Yes, you read that right. A Goat Simulator card game is on its way, slated for release later this year. The anticipation is palpable.
Coffee Stain North, the masterminds behind the original Goat Simulator mayhem, have joined forces with MOOD Publishing (creators of successful board game adaptations like Deep Rock Galactic: The Board Game and Valheim: The Board Game) to bring this bizarre, yet potentially brilliant, project to life.
What Can We Expect from Goat Simulator: The Card Game?
Details are still scarce, but we do know this much: Get ready for 2-6 player battles of goat-fueled chaos. Expect the same brand of absurd, hilarious gameplay that made the video game franchise a hit, now cleverly translated into a card-based format.
Launching on Kickstarter later this year, Goat Simulator: The Card Game is a physical card game promising pure, unadulterated goat-based mayhem. If you’ve ever experienced the joy (or the utter bewilderment) of flinging a goat into the digital void in the video game, you can probably imagine the chaotic energy this card game will bring to the table.
Santiago Ferrero, Creative Director at Coffee Stain North, perfectly sums it up: “Chaotic animal-based video games are so last year. That’s why we’ve partnered with MOOD Publishing to release a chaotic animal-based card game instead! You’ve seen goats on your screen; now it’s time to bring them to your table.”
Who Would Have Guessed Goat Simulation Would Become a Genre?
What began as a lighthearted April Fool's joke in 2014 has blossomed into a full-fledged phenomenon. From PCs and consoles to mobile platforms (Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and Apple Arcade), the goat-themed game has defied expectations and maintained its relevance for years.
And now, with Goat Simulator 3 continuing the absurd legacy, a card game joins the ever-expanding goat-tastic universe. In the meantime, you can find the existing Goat Simulator games on the Google Play Store.
