Invincible: The Most Important New Characters to Expect in Season 3

Author : Eleanor Apr 12,2025

As the much-anticipated Invincible: Season 3 approaches, Prime Video has unveiled an exciting new cast of voice actors. Notable additions include Aaron Paul voicing Powerplex, John DiMaggio as The Elephant, and Simu Liu lending his voice to Dupli-Kate’s brother, Multi-Paul. However, the most intriguing news surrounds the casting of Jonathan Banks and Doug Bradley, with their roles shrouded in mystery. Prime Video is keeping these details under wraps, likely to preserve the suspense for some major plot developments in the upcoming season.

This secrecy fuels speculation about which characters Banks and Bradley might portray. Additionally, fans are curious about Christian Convery's character, Oliver, who is aging rapidly. With Invincible gaining a new sidekick, these new characters are set to play pivotal roles in the season. Let's delve into what we know about the most significant additions to the cast and their potential impact on the series.

Warning: some basic plot spoilers for the Invincible comic ahead!

Jonathan Banks as Conquest

Jonathan Banks, renowned for his role in Breaking Bad, joins the cast of Invincible: Season 3, though his character remains undisclosed by Prime Video. Given Banks' reputation for portraying tough, seasoned characters, it's highly probable he will voice Conquest, a formidable Viltrumite villain introduced in 2009's Invincible #61. Conquest, known for his strength and battle scars, arrives on Earth with an ultimatum from the Viltrumite Empire: Invincible must conquer his homeworld, or Conquest will do it himself, leading to a brutal confrontation.

Season 2 laid the groundwork for this epic battle, hinting at Mark Grayson's destiny as Earth's conqueror. In Season 3, we can expect Mark to face this daunting challenge, still grappling with his youth and inexperience against a seasoned Viltrumite warrior. The stakes couldn't be higher, with Mark's life and the fate of Earth hanging in the balance.

Doug Bradley's Role in Invincible Season 3

While Banks is a likely fit for Conquest, speculation surrounds Doug Bradley's role. Best known for his portrayal of Pinhead in the Hellraiser series, Bradley's voice could suit two significant villains from the comics. The first possibility is Dinosaurus, who debuted in Invincible #68 in 2009. Dinosaurus aims to heal the world from human civilization's toxic effects, even if it means drastic actions like destroying Las Vegas. Bradley's deep, commanding voice could add depth to this villain, whose motives, though extreme, resonate with some of Invincible's own beliefs.

Alternatively, Bradley might voice Grand Regent Thragg, the ultimate antagonist of the Invincible saga. Introduced in Invincible #11 in 2004, Thragg is the powerful ruler of the Viltrumite Empire, a veteran of countless battles and a key player in the empire's civil war. Bradley's menacing presence would perfectly embody Thragg, setting the stage for Mark Grayson's most formidable adversary. While Thragg might not appear prominently in Season 3, his introduction could tease the looming threat against Mark and Earth's heroes.

Christian Convery’s Oliver Grayson

Season 2 introduced Oliver Grayson, Mark's half-brother, born to Nolan on Thraxa. With his unique half-Thraxan, half-Viltrumite heritage, Oliver ages at an accelerated rate. By Season 3, Oliver, now voiced by Christian Convery, will appear as a preteen due to his rapid aging. This development is a crucial plot point, as Oliver begins to manifest his powers much earlier than Mark did.

In the upcoming season, Oliver will take on the moniker Kid Omni-Man, following in his father and brother's footsteps. His presence adds a new layer to Mark's journey, as he not only navigates his role as a hero but also guides his younger brother. Oliver's powers make him a valuable ally, yet his youth also presents a potential vulnerability, adding tension to Mark's battles as he fears for Oliver's safety.
