Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's phenomenal success continues unabated, surpassing 2 million copies sold in under two weeks! Warhorse Studios, the developers, celebrated this triumph on Twitter, echoing their earlier jubilation at reaching the 1 million mark just one day after launch.
This incredible achievement for the medieval RPG sequel, released February 4th on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, is truly remarkable. Last week, parent company Embracer Group highlighted the game's exceptional performance on Steam, boasting over 250,000 peak concurrent players—a stark contrast to the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance's peak of 96,069 seven years prior. While the actual peak concurrent player count is undoubtedly higher, encompassing console players, precise figures remain unavailable from Sony and Microsoft.
Embracer Group's CEO, Lars Wingefors, praised the game's success, attributing it to the dedication of Warhorse Studios and publisher Deep Silver. He expressed confidence in the game's continued strong performance, projecting substantial revenue generation over the next few years. This positive outlook is further bolstered by a robust roadmap featuring updates and new content throughout the next 12 months.
Wingefors emphasized the team's pride in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2's exceeding expectations. The post-launch roadmap is ambitious, promising three expansions in 2025. Spring will see free updates including a barbershop feature, Hardcore Mode, and Horse Racing. Summer brings the first paid expansion, "Brushes with Death," following Henry as he assists a mysterious artist. Autumn introduces "Legacy of the Forge," exploring Henry's adoptive father's past, while winter concludes with "Mysteria Ecclesia," a covert mission within the Sedlec Monastery.
