NetEase Games has exciting news for Marvel Rivals players: a new hero will be introduced every month and a half as part of their ongoing seasonal updates. In an interview with Metro, the studio's creative director, Guangyun Chen, outlined the post-launch strategy, confirming that a new playable character will be released every half-season, which translates to approximately every six weeks.
"Each season will bring fresh seasonal stories, new maps, and new heroes," Chen explained. "We'll divide each season into two halves, with each half lasting about six weeks. During each half, we will introduce a new hero. Our goal is to continuously enhance the experience and keep our community engaged and excited."
Marvel Rivals Season 1: Eternal Night Falls has already set a strong precedent by introducing Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, with The Thing and the Human Torch scheduled for the second half. These iconic characters have solidified their place in the Marvel universe, but maintaining this momentum will be a significant challenge for NetEase.
The game launched with an impressive roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm, among others. Fans are eagerly anticipating future additions, with rumors suggesting that Blade might appear in Season 2. There's also hope for characters like Daredevil, Deadpool, and other X-Men to join the fray. Given the game's success so far, NetEase shows no signs of slowing down their expansion plans.
