The acclaimed cell-absorbing puzzle game, Osmos, returns to Android! Previously removed due to playability issues stemming from outdated porting technology, developer Hemisphere Games has resurrected it with a completely revamped version.
Remember the unique physics-based gameplay of Osmos? Absorb microorganisms, avoid being absorbed—simple yet captivating. For years, Android users were unable to enjoy this award-winning puzzler, but now it's back on Google Play. This new port is optimized for modern Android operating systems, delivering the best possible Osmos experience.
Hemisphere Games detailed in a blog post that initial Android development relied on Apportable, a porting studio that subsequently closed, hindering further updates. The game's removal was a direct result of its incompatibility with current Android systems (previously only supported on 32-bit systems). The newly released version features a completely rebuilt port.
