Loot filters in Path of Exile 2 are essential tools that streamline your gameplay by cutting down on screen clutter and highlighting the most valuable items on the ground. This makes the looting process much smoother and more enjoyable, particularly when you're dealing with a flood of drops. While managing loot with a controller on consoles can be a bit challenging, both PlayStation and Xbox players have access to item filters, just like their PC counterparts. Although setting up filters on consoles can be a bit tricky, here's a simple guide to help you get started.
How to Link Path of Exile 2 and Console Accounts
To utilize loot filters on the console versions of Path of Exile 2, you must first link your console account to your Path of Exile account. This process is managed through the Path of Exile 1 website. Here's how to do it:
- Log in to the Path of Exile website.
- Click on your account name in the upper-left corner of the webpage.
- Select "Manage Account" located on the right side, just below your profile name and avatar.
- Under the "Secondary Login" section, press the Connect button for either Sony (PS) or Microsoft (Xbox).
Once you press the Connect button for your console, you'll be directed to log in with your existing PlayStation or Xbox account. Follow the prompts to complete the linking process.
Finding and Using Loot Filters
After linking your accounts, return to your profile page on the Path of Exile website and click on the "Item Filters" button on the right side. Then, select the "Item Filter Ladder" hyperlink, which will open a new tab listing the top loot filters for Path of Exile 2.
At the top of the filter list, you'll find a drop-down box; change this to "PoE 2." Browse through the filters and click on the one you wish to use, then press the "Follow" button on the filter's page. For newcomers, we suggest starting with NeverSink's semi-strict or regular filters for a balanced and streamlined experience.
Now that you've followed a loot filter on the official website, launch your game and navigate to the Options menu. Under the Game tab, you'll find the Item Filter option at the top. Your chosen filter should appear in the drop-down menu. Select it and click Save. From this point forward, items that drop in the game will be displayed with different labels, colors, or even sound effects according to the filter you've activated.
