PS5 Pro Specs Revealed Ahead of Release
Previously, Sony has confirmed that the PS5 Pro features the "Tempest 3D Audio" that enables more immersive sound output, as well as improved haptic feedback in its DualSense wireless controller. It also introduces PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, an AI-driven feature that further enhances visual output. The console also has been confirmed to have backwards compatibility, using the PS5 Pro Game Boost, which makes PS4 games playable on the PS5 Pro.
Ahead of the PS5 Pro's release on Thursday, several lucky individuals on the internet, who got their hands on the console early, have shared the specs of the latest iteration of the PS5. Do take note Sony has to reveal the official specs themselves, so take these details with some dashes of salt.
In their early review of the console, tech outlet Digital Foundry said that the PS5 Pro uses AMD Ryzen Zen 2 8-core/16-thread processor which reportedly, along with the RDNA (Radeon DNA) graphics engine the console uses, produces speeds of 16.7 Teraflops—which would be a substantial upgrade to the PS5’s 10.23 Teraflop output. Previous reports have indicated that the PS5 Pro has an upgraded GPU clocking in 67% more power than the current PS5 console as well as 28% faster memory, which enables 45% faster rendering for gameplay.
Moreover, Digital Foundry's review showed that the PS5 Pro has an operating temperature that ranges from 5 degrees celsius to 35 degrees celsius, and comes with 2 TB Custom SSD storage, USB Type A and Type C ports, a disc drive port, and supports Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity.
