- Raid: Shadow Legends is set to debut a new event based on classic fairytale Alice in Wonderland
- From now until March 8th, recruit five new champions based on the tale
- Naturally, it comes with a suitably gothic twist on these well-known faces
What is it with dark takes on Alice in Wonderland? You never see someone make a dark fantasy take on the Hobbit where Bilbo is arrested for tax evasion. In any case, Lewis Carroll's humble fairytale book has inspired many grim and dark adaptations, the latest being from Plarium's mobile ARPG Raid: Shadow Legends.
Starting today and lasting through to March 8th, you'll be able to recruit five new champions based on iconic characters from this classic literature. Alice the Wanderer, the Mad Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, the Queen of Hearts and the Knave of Hearts all join the battle.
The story, insofar as it is more than just the original tale, follows Alice's journey from the world of Teleria into the fantastical realm she's drawn to by the white rabbit. Joining forces with the Knave of Hearts and Cheshire Cat, she'll need to topple the forces of the Queen of Hearts and her consort the Mad Hatter.
Cue the dancing Johnny DeppAs you might expect the headlining star in this event, Alice the Wanderer, will debut as a free character via a 14-day loyalty programme. Log in over this period and nab free rewards, with Alice available on day seven! You'll have to start the loyalty program by March 26th first to get all these goodies, of course.
Meanwhile, the Mad Hatter will be available both via a Guaranteed Champion event for new players, and a Mixed Fusion Event for existing players through to January 23rd. by completing in-game quests and tournaments to nab the necessary materials.
Raid: Shadow Legends has certainly never been short on kooky ideas, but I think "Alice in Wonderland turned goth Doom Slayer" may be the wackiest yet. But if this is what tempts you to jump into Plarium's flagship release, be sure to check out our list of the best champions in Raid: Shadow Legends by rarity.
