My interest in Pokémon TCG Pocket tends to ebb and flow. I'm deeply engaged whenever a new set drops, and I keep playing as long as there are Emblems to earn after racking up around 40 wins. Once that's done, my routine becomes a bit more casual: I log in, open my packs, do a Wonder Pick just for the fun of it, and then move on until the next day. This cycle is about to kick off again with the arrival of the latest expansion, Shining Revelry, set to launch on March 27th.
This expansion will bring 110 new cards to TCG Pocket, featuring a blend of new Ex Pokémon, Trainers, and the stunning art cards we've grown to adore. The highlight of Shining Revelry is undoubtedly the inclusion of Shiny Pokémon! For those new to the concept, Shiny Pokémon are unique, differently colored versions of your favorite creatures. For instance, you'll see Lucario in a striking yellow instead of its usual blue, and Pachirisu with an eye-catching pink stripe.
The trailer, which you can view below, teases just a fraction of what's to come. One of the standout cards is a new Shiny Charizard Ex with 180 HP and a powerful attack, Steam Artillery, which inflicts 150 damage. The downside? It requires a hefty five energy. But don't worry, its other move, Stoke, lets you attach three Fire Energy cards at once, speeding up your setup.
Another exciting addition is the Lucario Ex. Previously seen in a more supportive role during the Space-Time Smackdown expansion, this iteration of the Aura Pokémon is ready for direct combat. With 150 HP, it may not be the most robust, but its Aura Sphere attack is impressive, dealing 100 damage for three Fighting Energy and also hitting one of your opponent's Benched Pokémon for 30.
The trailer also showcases other cards that, while not game-changers, are still delightful. Look forward to Shiny versions of Wiglett, Pachirisu, and Varoom, all of which are visually stunning. And don't miss out on the beautiful art rare of Tatsugiri, a must-have for any digital collection.
