Stardew Valley offers a multitude of activities, from farming and mining to fishing. But did you know you can also craft delicious preserves? This guide shows you how to make Spice Berry Jelly.
Getting the Preserves Jar in Stardew Valley
The Preserves Jar, crucial for making jelly (and other preserves like pickles and caviar), is unlocked in two ways:
- Farming Level 4: Reach farming level 4 to automatically unlock the recipe.
- Community Center Bundle: Complete the Quality Crops Bundle in the Community Center. This requires submitting three gold-quality crops (pumpkins, melons, corn, or parsnips), with five of each chosen crop. All must be gold quality.
Once you have the Preserves Jar, you're ready to make Spice Berry Jelly!
Making Spice Berry Jelly in Stardew Valley
Here's a step-by-step guide:
- Gather Spice Berries: Find them during summer outdoors, or year-round in the Farm Cave. You can also use a Seed Maker to create Summer Seeds for planting.
- Build a Preserves Jar (if needed): This requires 50 Wood, 40 Stone, and 8 Coal. The Quality Crops Bundle also rewards you with one.
- Create the Jelly: Place a Spice Berry into the Preserves Jar. It takes approximately two to three in-game days (54 hours) to complete. Start the process before going offline for optimal timing. The jar will pulse while the jelly is being made.
- Collect Your Jelly: Once ready, the Spice Berry Jelly icon will appear above the jar. Collect it! Enjoy a tasty energy boost, or sell it for 160 gold.
Adding jelly-making to your farming repertoire is another way to boost your income and contribute to the vibrant world of Stardew Valley.
