TMNT: The Last Ronin II - Re-Evolution #5, written by Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz, with art by Ben Bishop, Isaac Escorza, and Esau Escorza, promises a climactic showdown.
IDW's official synopsis: The second installment in the legendary Last Ronin saga reaches its fiery climax! New York City is engulfed in all-out war, leaving no one safe. Casey, April, Odyn, Yi, Moja, and Uno are all in the line of fire. Will they survive? Their fate rests in the hands of legendary writers Kevin Eastman & Tom Waltz as this chapter of The Last Ronin concludes!
Reflecting on the new characters, Eastman shared in a 2024 IGN interview: "We wanted to update the characters. There are two male and two female Turtles, and Tom and I worked to capture what teenagers might think, say, and do. There's a great mix of personalities, much like the original Turtles. They love their family, but don't always like them. They argue, disagree, but their family bond always unites them—that's the heart of the Turtles."
