Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a glimmer of good news on the horizon. The company has successfully tackled a vexing issue that has been plaguing fans for some time.
Ubisoft has finally resolved the compatibility issues that arose between several Assassin’s Creed titles, including Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and the Windows 11 24H2 update. These issues, which surfaced at least since the fall of 2024, caused these popular games to malfunction on the new operating system. The solution? Newly released patches that have been eagerly anticipated by the gaming community. Ubisoft announced these updates on the Steam pages for both Origins and Valhalla.
The gaming community's response has been overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their gratitude in the comments section of the patch notes. Notably, gamers have refrained from their usual critiques of Ubisoft, acknowledging that this particular issue stemmed from Windows rather than the game developer's shortcomings. Despite this positive development, the recent reviews for both games are still categorized as “Mixed,” indicating that there's still room for improvement.
Looking forward, there's optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Originally set for an earlier launch, the game's release has been postponed to March 20. Ubisoft's decision to delay aims to enhance the game's quality, a critical move considering the launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows could very well shape the company's future.
