Attention all GoldenEye enthusiasts, it's time to get excited — IO Interactive has officially announced that their upcoming James Bond game, Project 007, will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2. According to IO Interactive's website, this game will delve into an entirely new narrative within the Bond universe.

"Players will step into the shoes of the world's favorite Secret Agent to earn their 00 status in the very first James Bond origin story," the developer stated, setting the stage for what fans can anticipate from the game's storyline.

In an interview with IGN back in October, IO Interactive's Head, Hakan Abrak, shared insights on crafting a fresh origin story for the iconic spy. "What's exciting about that project is that we actually got to do an original story. So it's not a gamification of a movie," he explained. He further elaborated on the vision for the game, saying, "It's completely beginning and becoming a story, hopefully for a big trilogy out there in the future. And equally important and exciting, it's a new Bond. It's a Bond we built from the ground up for gamers. It's extremely exciting with all the tradition and all the history there is there together to work on this together with the family of creating a young Bond for gamers; a Bond that the gamers can call their own and grow with."

While a specific release date for Project 007 remains under wraps, fans can stay updated on all the latest announcements from the Nintendo Direct by clicking here.
