Atelier Resleriana's End-of-Service Announcement: A Year of Alchemy Ends March 28th
Koei Tecmo has announced the closure of Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator, just one year after its global launch. The game's in-app purchases will cease on January 27th, with all services ending on March 28th. Several in-game events are planned before the shutdown to allow players to enjoy the remaining time.
This decision stems from the developers' inability to maintain their initially set quality standards. Despite ongoing efforts to improve the game and introduce new events, they determined that continued operation was unsustainable. Players can still utilize their existing Lodestar Gems, but further purchases are no longer possible.
The game's struggles weren't unexpected, given the highly competitive gacha market. While Atelier Resleriana showcased promising concepts, several key elements fell short. Criticism centered around gacha rates and banner systems, hindering player progression. The alchemy mechanics, a cornerstone of the Atelier series, failed to deliver the expected creative depth.
