Main quests in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* can be tricky, especially when you're sneaking around unfamiliar areas against the clock. This guide walks you through "For Whom the Bell Tolls," a mission where timing is everything.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: For Whom the Bell Tolls Walkthrough
The "For Whom the Bell Tolls" quest begins after completing "Wedding Crashers." Hans, imprisoned in Trosky, faces execution once the bell tolls twelve times. Your task? Use your newfound freedom as a castle laborer to save him.
Hauling Sacks

Start by hauling sacks from a wagon to a nearby shed. This isn't optional; simply move each sack one by one until the objective is complete.
Help the Blacksmith

Next, assist the blacksmith by crafting a horseshoe. You'll find the necessary materials at the forge near the archway. Once crafted, deliver the horseshoe to the stables.
Help Fanka the Cook

Retrieve a lockpick from a red pot in the forge. Then, speak with Fanka, the cook. Offering to help her will grant you access to the noble's kitchen. While lockpicking isn't required, it boosts your reputation and unlocks future food access.
Speak with the Chamberlain

The ailing chamberlain in the kitchen needs help. Try persuading him to let you brew a Digestive Potion; success grants access to the surgeon's workshop. Failure requires a stealthier approach.
Make Fever Tonicum

If you failed to convince the chamberlain, discreetly obtain food from the kitchen to bribe a guard and access the workshop. Otherwise, proceed directly to the surgeon's workshop (located upstairs, through the hall with two doors, the right one being the workshop). Craft a Fever Tonicum, and a Digestive Potion if you persuaded the chamberlain (sufficient ingredients are in the room's chest).
Cure Thomas

Deliver the Digestive Potion to the chamberlain (if applicable) to gain access to Thomas' room. Otherwise, stealthily navigate to Thomas' room via the noble's kitchen, using distractions to bypass guards. Give Adele the Fever Tonicum to trigger the quest's conclusion.
Completing "For Whom the Bell Tolls" before the twelfth bell tolls earns you reputation, though the quest's outcome remains the same regardless of timing.
