How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a new addition to *Fields of Mistria*, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are crucial for several new features, making them essential for daily farm management. This guide covers finding, crafting, and utilizing Essence Stones of various sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be discovered within chests located throughout the mines in *Fields of Mistria*. While I initially found one while searching for offering items on Floor 60 to break the Fire Seal, chests can appear on any level and within various biomes. Beware of mimic enemies disguised as chests—interaction will result in damage.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent searching. If hunting for stones proves challenging, crafting them at the Stone Refinery is a viable alternative.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria* allows for Essence Stone crafting. This location is unlocked through a new story quest introduced in the March 2025 update, requiring the refinery's construction within the mines. After completing the prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

Building the Stone Refinery requires:

• 200 Wood
• 400 Stone
• 5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of varying sizes using Stone and Essence. The required quantities differ depending on the stone's size (see table below).

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery crafts various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a valuable hub for crafting supplies.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics. Both utilize Essence Stones, with larger stones providing longer durations. Large Essence Stones offer the longest charge.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue (placed in Large Barns and Coops), automatically pets animals daily while an Essence Stone is active. This rare statue is found in a concealed cave near Errol's house in the Narrows (requires Dragon's Breath). Additional statues can be crafted once unlocked.

Similarly, the Water Sprite Statue unlocks the sprinkler mechanic. Place it anywhere on your farm to automatically water crops within a 2-tile radius while an Essence Stone is in use. Additional statues can also be crafted. The statue and crafting scroll are located on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse (requires Dragon's Breath to access).

Future updates from NPC Studio will likely expand the uses of Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria.
