Reaching Bloodmoon Island in Divinity: Original Sin 2
Bloodmoon Island, shrouded in Deathfog and with its connecting bridge destroyed, presents a challenge to reach. This guide details methods to overcome this obstacle and access the island's quests.
Method 1: The Spirit Bridge
The remnants of the bridge northeast of Cloisterwood, near Jahan and Witch Alice, are visible using Spirit Vision. Crossing requires:
- Gloves of Teleportation: Teleport party members individually across the broken sections.
- Translocation Skills: Utilize skills like Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, or Tactical Retreat for traversal. Note: Not all companions possess these skills.
- Teleporter Pyramids: Use two pyramids; one companion crosses using translocation, then the rest teleport to their location.
- Fast Travel: A companion with translocation reaches the island waypoint; the rest fast travel.
Method 2: The Undead Ferry
Northwest of Cloisterwood, an undead ferryman offers passage across the Deathfog. However, this is deceptive:
- With Fane: Only Fane, being undead and Deathfog-immune, survives. He reaches the waypoint, allowing the rest to fast travel.
- Without Fane: Use two Teleporter Pyramids. One companion takes the ferry (dying upon arrival), then the others teleport and resurrect them. This method is less efficient than using the bridge.
Method 2 Alternative: The Undead Ferry (Without Fane)
If Fane isn't in your party, and you still want to use the ferry, follow these steps:
- Equip a companion with a Teleporter Pyramid.
- Send that companion alone on the ferry. They will die upon arrival.
- Use a second Teleporter Pyramid to teleport to the deceased companion's location.
- Resurrect the companion using a resurrection spell or scroll.
Recommendation: Unless you specifically want to use the ferry for roleplaying purposes, utilizing the Spirit Bridge is generally the faster and more reliable method of reaching Bloodmoon Island.
Caution: Avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless you've saved your game. He retaliates with a potentially lethal Deathfog spell. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, a belt, and 3,750 XP.
