Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Kicking off the season, Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown was the first new map to be released. Designed for the *Marvel Rivals'* payload-style mode known as Convoy, players will either escort or attempt to halt a moving vehicle as it travels across the map. This map joins Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands as the third Convoy map in *Rivals*.
Set under the ominous glow of Dracula’s Blood Moon, this rendition of New York City's Midtown features several Points of Interest that pay homage to both the *Marvel* Universe and real-world locations:
- Baxter Building
- Grand Central Terminal
- Stark/Avengers Tower
- Fisk Tower
- Ardmore’s Bookstore
- Timely Trend
Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
The Empire of Eternal Night version of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Santorum was added to *Marvel Rivals* in Season 1 and is exclusively dedicated to the Doom Match mode. In this free-for-all deathmatch style, players battle it out to survive and eliminate opponents, with wins awarded to those in the top half of the leaderboard and an MVP accolade for the top performer.
This map features a stunning depiction of Doctor Strange’s mystical mansion, serving as Earth’s supernatural defense hub in New York City. First appearing in a 1963 comic, the Sanctum Santorum has become a staple in the *MCU*. Players can explore its supernatural rooms, discover portals, navigate an infinite staircase, and even interact with Bats The Ghost Dog.
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Scheduled for release in the latter part of Season 1, the Central Park map remains somewhat mysterious. Situated between Manhattan's Upper West and Upper East Sides, Central Park is no stranger to the *Marvel* world, with its latest appearance in the 2023 *Marvel’s Spider-Man 2* video game.
In *Marvel Rivals*, Central Park will feature a stylized version of Belvedere Castle, one of the park's highest points. Known for its Gothic architecture, this miniature castle is set to be a perfect backdrop for the Empire of Eternal Night theme and a potential hideout for Dracula within New York City.
These new maps enrich the *Marvel Rivals* experience, bringing more of Marvel’s New York to life under the Empire of Eternal Night.
