Early gameplay footage of EA's next Battlefield game has leaked online, reportedly stemming from a closed Battlefield Labs playtest. A Twitch user, anto_merguezz, seemingly streamed the footage, though the stream itself is no longer available. However, recordings have surfaced online, primarily circulating on Reddit.
The leaked footage seemingly confirms the game's modern setting, a departure from the historical or futuristic settings of previous Battlefield titles, as previously hinted by Vince Zampella. The video offers glimpses of intense firefights and showcases the game's destructible environments. Initial fan reaction appears positive, a welcome change after the lukewarm reception of Battlefield 2042.
Last month's official unveiling revealed some key details, including the return of a traditional, linear single-player campaign—a feature notably absent from Battlefield 2042 and a point of contention among players.
EA currently anticipates launching the new Battlefield game in fiscal year 2026 (April 2025 – March 2026). With the game's launch approaching, we can expect more official reveals soon. Given the current leak, however, it seems containing further unauthorized disclosures may prove challenging for EA.
