Stalker 2: For Science! Side Quest Walkthrough

In Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players exploring The Zone will stumble upon various NPCs, triggering quests ranging from small tasks to extensive side missions like "For Science!". This mission involves Skif meeting Yaryk Mongoose, who needs help activating a second measuring device atop a silo. It's a short quest rewarding players with a Malachite pass for access to the STC Malachite facility.

  1. Initiating the "For Science!" Quest:

To begin, find Yaryk Mongoose in the Central Elevator area of the Chemical Plant. Upon approaching, you'll hear Mongoose radio Skif, requesting a meeting. Inside the Central Elevator, go left past the conveyor belts, ascend the rusty stairs, vault the railing, and speak to Mongoose. He'll explain the need to activate a second device on a nearby silo. Accepting his request starts the mission.

  1. Reaching the Silo's Summit:

Exit the room and climb to the building's roof. Deal with any rodents. Climb through a broken window and descend the external ladder to the silo walkways. Equip your bolt-action weapon to counter electro anomalies. Proceed left along the silo's top to activate the device.

  1. Dealing with the Aftermath:

Activating the device attracts Bloodsuckers. You can eliminate them or evade them to reach Mongoose. He'll explain the experiment's unintended consequences.

  1. Confronting Mongoose:

You can choose to kill Mongoose for endangering Skif or accept the reward peacefully. Neither choice significantly impacts the game. A peaceful resolution yields the Malachite Pass and coupons. The pass grants access to the STC Malachite base, unless already obtained through a main mission.
