Transformers: Reactivate Gameplay Footage Leaks After Game’s Cancellation

Author : Sebastian Jan 25,2025

Recently canceled Transformers: Reactivate, a cooperative game initially unveiled by Splash Damage in 2022, has resurfaced in the form of leaked gameplay footage. This footage, from a 2020 build, showcases Bumblebee navigating a destroyed cityscape, seamlessly transforming between robot and vehicle modes, and utilizing various weapons. The gameplay bears resemblance to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, but features a unique alien enemy force known as "the Legion."

Despite some unfinished textures, the leaked footage displays a polished game with environmental destruction. A brief, silent cutscene depicts Bumblebee emerging from a portal in New York City, communicating with an ally named Devin regarding the Legion's attacks. Numerous other leaks, dating back to 2020, further illustrate the game's development before its official announcement and subsequent cancellation. While the game will not be released, the leaked footage offers a glimpse into Splash Damage's vision for this ambitious, ultimately unsuccessful, multiplayer Transformers title.

The game, a collaboration between Splash Damage and Hasbro, was intended to feature iconic Generation 1 Autobots and Decepticons uniting against an extraterrestrial threat. The cancellation resulted in a shift in Splash Damage's focus towards new projects, and potential job losses for some team members.
