Call of Duty: Warzone players are experiencing game freezes and crashes during loading screens, sometimes resulting in unfair penalties. While a complete fix is still in development, a temporary solution has been implemented.
Warzone developers have acknowledged the issue and are actively working on a permanent solution. The problem surfaced in early January 2025, adding to a series of recent challenges for the game, including previous matchmaking outages and ongoing issues with cheating and bugs.
To alleviate the immediate impact on players, Raven Software temporarily suspended Skill Rating penalties and timeouts for those disconnecting before Ranked matches begin. This addresses player concerns over unwarranted punishments due to the unavoidable game crashes. Penalties will still apply for players who leave matches in progress.
Although this temporary fix provides some relief, the underlying bug persists, even after a major game update. The ongoing presence of bugs and the disruption to Ranked play remain frustrating for many players. The development team is focused on resolving these issues as quickly as possible.
